Mountain Elopement Packages In Breathtaking Views

Are you the kind of person that just loves being outside surrounded by nature? I get it, me too! I feel so lucky to have my dream job as a full time photographer and planner that helps couples get married in breathtaking mountain locations.

Imagine saying your vows with towering peaks all around you. You breathe in the crisp mountain air, take in the jaw-dropping vistas, and soak in the quiet intimacy, like the world exists just for the two of you. I can’t think of anything better. With my mountain elopement packages, I handle every detail so you can focus on what matters most: each other. Maybe even a guest or two if you’d like. That’s exactly how it should be!

Living in the heart of the Rockies in Salida, Colorado, I help couples create unforgettable experiences in some of the most beautiful places in the country. If you love the mountains, why not take a Jeep to a secluded alpine lake in the middle of nowhere? I designed my all-inclusive mountain elopement packages to make your dream wedding effortless and extraordinary. Even if you’ve never set foot in Colorado, I’ll guide you every step of the way

Bride and groom are standing in green grass in Ouray with the mountains behind them. The alpenglow is lighting up the mountains. The bride. twirling in her dress and smiling at the groom as he smiles and watches her spin. Taken in Ouray Colorado, this couple booked my 8 hour mountain elopement package.

Why Choose A Mountain Elopement Package?

Elopements in the mountains are perfect for couples who want adventure, intimacy, and stunning natural beauty all wrapped into one unforgettable day. If a large traditional wedding overwhelms you, consider a small, intimate mountain wedding or elopement instead! I created my mountain elopement packages to take the stress out of planning and to make your experience unforgettable while exploring the most beautiful locations in the West. Here’s why you’ll love them:

  • Access to Hidden Gems: If you hire a photographer who isn’t local to Colorado then you lose out on the opportunity to access hidden gems. Skip the crowded spots and discover breathtaking, off-the-beaten-path locations.
  • Cost-Effective: Have an extraordinary wedding experience without the price tag of a traditional wedding. Instead of spending thousands of dollars to celebrate for 8 hours, celebrate for a few days or week in a stunning destination!
  • Local Expertise: I live in the Colorado mountains right next to the Continental Divide so I know the best spots, the right seasons, and how to navigate permits to make your day seamless.
  • Access to My Elopement Gear Vault: Are you flying in from out of state? Need items for a leave no trace friendly picnic? I can help. When you hire me you also have access to anything in my gear vault! From double loveseat camp chairs to a romantic picnic set up with lanterns (and so much more).
  • Expert Elopement Planning: I calculate the perfect timing for your sunset ceremony, so you don’t end up on the wrong side of the mountain missing it.

Planning A Mountain Elopement

Bride and the groom stand in the dark with two lanterns lighting them. In the background, you can see the silhouette of mountains and the milky way peaking over them.
Newly married wedding couple sit on a picnic blanket next to an alpine lake in Crested Butte. The lake is reflecting the trees and mountains behind it. This couple chose to add on a romantic picnic at sunset to their mountain elopement package.

Top Mountain Locations For Elopements In Colorado

I may be a little biased since I’m a local, but I think Colorado is your best choice for finding elopement packages in the mountains. You can’t deny the views are incredible! Here are a few of my favorite spots:

Bride and groom hold hands and look at a female moose crossing the road to go into the trees. If you get married in Rocky Mountain National Park, you can expect to see wildlife!

Known for their rugged beauty and vibrant wildflowers, the San Juans are perfect for adventurous couples. Imagine a Jeep ride up to a secluded spot with 360-degree views of the mountains. If this sounds like your speed then I recommend checking out Ouray, Ridgway, Silverton, Telluride and Durango as potential options to stay. Every mountain town is very different! I will talk a little more about my favorite towns in the San Juans below.

Bride and groom sit on a blanket with their backs turned towards the camera overlooking the San Juan mountains. They have a picnic basket next to them and they are both drinking french press coffee. For their sunrise elopement, this couple added on coffee at 12,000 feet onto their mountain elopement package.

Telluride is a breathtaking mountain town renowned for its stunning views, charming streets, and one-of-a-kind gondola system. It’s the only free public transportation gondola in the world! I’ve even taken couples up the gondola to the top of the mountain at night to get the most epic star photos possible! There are so many location options within a 60 minute drive to Telluride.

Bride and groom share a kiss as their guests cheer behind them. A dog is standing at the feet at the guests looking up at the excitement from this Telluride mountain elopement.

Called the “Switzerland of America,” this area is famous for their stunning peaks, hot springs, ice climbing, and off-roading. Perfect for couples looking for adventure and charm. It can be tough to find accommodations in Ouray, so you might want to check the nearby town of Ridgway which is only 15 minutes away.

Couple walk hand in hand in the grass towards a rocky mountain that is towering over them. They chose sunrise for their mountain elopement package, so they got to see the sun hit the mountains for the first time on their wedding day.

If you like wildflowers then maybe you would enjoy the wildflower capital of Colorado? The blooms start in late June and go through the end of July. Every week you’ll see a new flower as summer progresses! Crested Butte is a dream location no matter the season, but most of the ceremony locations here will require hiking or off-roading. I also know of at least 4 waterfalls that are so secret they don’t even have a name! I live a little over an hour away from Crested Butte so this is a personal favorite for me.

Groom dips his bride for a first kiss. they are surrounded by greenery and tall rocky mountains. The sunset is shining on the mountains behind them for this Crested Butte elopement.

What’s Included In My Mountain Elopement Packages?

I’ve you’ve been looking for all-inclusive elopement packages in the mountains then you’ve come to the right place. My packages are all about creating a day that feels just right for you. I’m more than just a photographer! Here’s what you can expect:

Your coverage is customizable! Do you imagine being the only one on the mountain top at sunrise? I’ll pack my french press to keep you caffeinated. How about taking a nap in the afternoon and going to a bright blue alpine lake at sunset? You can do both in one day and I’ll capture every moment! My husband is the videographer, and is also down for any adventure you have in mind. Videography can be added on at any time during the planning process.

No awkward posing for photos, just genuine moments that feel like you. Whether your vibe is romantic and intentional, silly and spontaneous, or a little bit of both, I focus on capturing the real connection between you. My approach is all about keeping things natural, authentic, candid, and true to your personalities, so you can relax, be yourselves, and let the magic unfold.

Not sure where to elope? No problem! I’ll help you find the perfect spot, whether it’s a hidden alpine lake, a dramatic mountain ridge, or a cozy meadow. You’ll receive a location scouting guide with hidden gem locations made completely custom to you and your adventure. This guide is designed to answer any question you could possibly have. It will have information like exact coordinates, best place to park, permit information, estimated privacy, comments about the terrain, photos, videos, detailed accessibility information, and all of the knowledge I have. I live in the mountains and I’ve been working in the backcountry for 7+ years! If the location is in Colorado I can even scout it in person before your wedding day.

You don’t even need to worry about when to show up or where, because I take care of everything. Once we enter the timeline planning phase you’ll fill out a questionnaire related to planning your timeline for your epic wedding day in the mountains. I take your responses and build a custom elopement timeline around the best lighting of the day. The goal is to have a stress free and relaxed experience in the mountains without feeling rushed. Since I’ve planned over 150+ adventurous elopements just in the Colorado mountains, I’m pretty dang good at this.

There are 2 different types of permits we usually encounter: Special use and commercial photography. My favorite spots in the backcountry are typically managed by the National Forest land or Bureau of Land Management. In most cases, a special use permit is not required on these types of lands as long as you are having a small no frills leave no trace friendly ceremony. Some locations may cap group sizes at 12. No spreading flower petals, birdseed, setting up chairs or decor. If you want to set up chairs & decor then a permit may be required. If a permit is required then I can help you navigate that process and help you with rebuttals if needed. Permits for photography are covered by me, but couples are liable for the special use fee.

When you hire me, you gain access to my Elopement Gear Vault. I’ve been an outdoor enthusiast for as long as I can remember, so I’ve got quite a collection of gear! These items are designed to elevate your elopement experience. From romantic picnic setups with tables, lanterns, and tablecloths to practical adventure gear like matching headlamps, I have everything you need to create a magical and stress-free day. If I don’t have it, I can help you find it or rent it!

Want to add a little extra thrill to your day? From Jeep and UTV access to rock climbing, snowboarding, or hiking elopements, I’ll help you craft a unique experience. I’m up for any adventure!

I’ve spent almost 5 years crafting my planning process just for elopements & intimate wedding less than 20 people in the mountains. You’ll be guided through a two phase planning process designed to relieve stress and take things one step at a time. The first phase is focused solely on your ceremony location and planning travel/accommodations. The second phase focuses on planning your elopement timeline and what you’re going to do on your wedding day. I’ll guide you every step of the way to make your elopement planning seamless! Plus you have me to ask as many questions as you need.

All elopement packages include high-resolution digital images delivered through an online photo gallery. This makes it easy for you to download, share, and print your photos, preserving your memories forever. You can even order gifts, prints, and art work directly from the gallery. Each image is personally hand edited by me to ensure TOP quality.

A custom packing checklist will be built directly into your custom elopement timeline for you. You will have edit access to the entire thing and can update it as needed! This ensures you don’t forget a single thing on your wedding day.

This goes for eloping couples AND couples with guests. Trying to inform others about your elopement or small wedding? I can help you write a template just for you, even if they aren’t invited. After your custom timeline is created, I will write an email from YOUR perspective that is meant for your guests. It informs them about timing of ceremony, ceremony location, how to dress, what to bring, what to expect and everything they need to know to prepare. This will be sent to the two of you via email so you can share it directly with your guests.

I don’t believe in hidden fees – I believe in transparency to make everything easier. The price you see is the price you pay! You won’t get a single invoice for my mileage or travel. The only reason the package price would go up is if you decided to add on additional hours of photography or videography. There are exceptions for things like hot air balloon rides, scenic plane tours, UTV tours, etc. All I ask is you cover my seat in order to capture those moments.

While your full elopement gallery will be ready within 6 to 8 weeks, I offer sneak peek photos from your wedding day within 48 hours!

Every collection can be broken down into payment plans. Typically I require a 40% non-refundable retainer to book, but I can break up that total over 2 months upon request.

Bride and groom hold hands and smile as they walk toward the camera. Behind them is a massive rocky mountain range and you can see the sun setting on the top half. This stunning mountain location is an hour outside of Aspen, Colorado.

How to Customize Your Elopement In The Mountains

Every couple is special in their own way, and your elopement should be too. Here are some ways to make your mountain elopement package unique to you:

Seasonal Themes

Plan for summer wildflowers, fall aspen groves, or a snowy winter wonderland. I can’t think of anything better than snowboarding or skiing to someone’s wedding! If you’re looking to to get married in the mountains without snow, then I recommend sticking to July, August and September for Colorado. Even then, you never know what kind of weather you may get on top of a mountain!

Bride and groom ski in an alpine basin at Mayflower Gulch, Colorado with the alpenglow on the mountains behind them. The couple are in their skiing wedding attire. The bride has a white dress and white beanie and the groom is wearing an all black suit. They chose to do backcountry skiing in their mountain elopement package.

Include Loved Ones

Invite a small group of family or friends to join in the celebration. I guarantee it will be the most unique wedding they’ve ever been to. You could dedicated one day to getting married and the other days to doing fun activities like white water rafting or hiking with your guests. There is so much to see and do in the mountains.

A small wedding in the mountains toast with champagne at sunset in a campsite. Their Jeeps are parked behind them, and the sunset is shining on the mountains and trees behind the guests in this Alta Lakes elopement wedding.

Invite Your Dog

Some of my favorite elopements and intimate weddings over the years have all included dogs!! Did you know they can even stamp their paw print on your marriage license as your witness in most counties in Colorado? Quite possibly one of the cutest things ever.

Two dogs in goggles stand next to their owners on the trail. Their owners are in wedding attire because they chose the adventure mountain elopement package for their wedding day.

Adventure Add-Ons

Incorporate activities like hiking, skiing, rock climbing, or a 4×4 ride in a Jeep into your day. Colorado even has locations that offer scenic helicopter tours or a hot air balloon ride!

Bride, groom and their guests settle into an open UTV tour vehicle in Ouray. They chose a mountain elopement package and hired a private driver called Alpine Scenic tours in Ouray.

Photos Under The Milky Way

This might be my favorite item on the list. Have you ever seen the Milky Way with the naked eye? Before I started photographing couples I was obsessed with photographing the stars, so I know where to go to see the milky way and how to track it!

Add Activities

You don’t have to hike or do something insanely adventurous to see the mountain views. Maybe you’re more of a find a good spot and enjoy the scenery kind of traveler? I can help there too. Incorporating activities into your wedding day is the best way to ensure it doesn’t feel like an all day photoshoot.
